Summer Is Here

After the long winter of pandemic isolation, we have all been looking forward to the freedoms that easing restrictions and vaccinations will bring. Everyone in my house is a lot healthier than last year – though still taking it quietly, and looking after ourselves. As the spring warmed up, it was great to have some outdoor playdates for the kids that were not too freezing. May was typically wet and windy, so it was great to welcome June sunshine this week, and discover the delights of shedding layers and spending time in the garden.

One of my 50 things was to have breakfast on the patio. This morning the children were away in London, finally visiting their family again after a long year of staying close to home. So I took my museli and coffee out to start the day with the birds in the tranquility of the garden. Best way to start a day.
